The 21-year-old from Wilsons Creek in the Northern Rivers has built a successful free range egg operation with a flock of 2500 and a staff of three, without ever owning a piece of land.

Oliver is a shining role-model for young farmers (a rare breed, I’m often told by older ones) and indeed has two 17-year-old boys helping out after school. His latest thing is Bone Broth, also sold from his stall.

Oliver keeps his 450 hens healthy and happy by allowing them to live a truly free-range life (unlike many conventional free-range systems, where hens can live their whole life in a shed).
